Discover the wonders of pressure cooking while easing your worries about safety and timing. Decide which cooker is best for you: a digital Instant Pot or a classic Stove Top Presto. Learn to serve healthy soups, veggies, and entrees in minutes. The take-away: Prized Beef Goulash Recipe! Prior to the on-line sessions Registrants will receive the recipes with the list of ingredients prior to the on-line class. The participants can practice the recipes before or after the lesson in their own kitchens and ask questions during the session.

These spirited on-line sessions will stimulate a love of pressure cooking. Registrants can look forward to instruction, coaching, recipes and lots of Q&A. The instructor, Virginia Baltay, retired Science Teacher at Walsh Intermediate School and elsewhere, is a pressure cooking fanatic. She relishes the opportunity to teach an adult enrichment class on her beloved topic: The Pressure Cooker.
Efficient, green and safe cooking with both digital Instant Pots and classic stovetop Prestos will fascinate you and change your manner of meal prep forever. The sessions will follow the outline from Virginia’s new book, A Steamy Affair with a Pressure Cooker published by McNaughton & Gunn August 2020.
Over the past fifty years, Virginia has created more than 15,000 pressure cooked meals, as her expertise grew with each new soup, stew and dessert. Raising a remarkable brood of five children and the blessing of thirteen grandchildren and a long marriage have given her ample opportunity to refine her pressure cooking skills. She has entertained vast numbers of family and friends, always following her beloved mantra: “Be clever; prepare quick, healthy, interesting meals and everyone is happy.”
