Remaining Hopeful While Dealing with Climate Change B-557
Remaining Hopeful While Dealing with Climate Change
5/11/2022 to 5/25/2022
- Ginny Bales
- Wednesday 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Even thinking about climate change can feel so overwhelming that we may try to ignore or deny what we see around us. But it is possible (and much more empowering!) to discover that we can remain hopeful while also facing this huge challenge to our planet and our ways of life.
The class is an opportunity to learn and explore in a supportive environment. It is not a political action group and class members will not be required to agree with any particular points of view, only to be civil, respectful, and willing to listen to the thoughts of others. Bring your open mind, courageous heart, curiosity, and love of nature (and if fears for the future are tagging along, that's what we're here to deal with).
If you have attended the intro workshop on remaining hopeful while dealing with climate change, you'll have a better idea of what to expect, but it is not essential or required.
Ginny Bales has taught psychology at Yale, Southern CT State University, and the College of New Rochelle, and has helped make water exercise fun at the YMCA in Branford for the past 11 years. She's now bringing these same skills to the issue of our climate, knowing that when people feel connected to each other and personally empowered, we can face scary and seemingly unmanageable issues and take constructive action.
