Drawing for the Beginner
Learn to draw the basic shapes, like cubes, cones, and spheres, needed for creating still life, seasonal landscapes, and human figures artwork. An introduction to perspective will also be covered. Continuing students will explore more advanced methods of drawing such as perspective, basic portraits, etc. Our supply list is basic. You're welcome to use what you already have! Most items can be purchased locally at Ocean State Job Lot or Joanne's Fabric. An HB or #2 graphite pencil, drawing pad, and kneaded eraser is recommended. 
 
Watercolor Miniatures for Beginners
Using watercolor, small paper and a limited palette, you'll receive step-by-step instructions to create miniature works of art. Our supply list is basic. You're welcome to use what you already have! Most items can be purchased locally at Ocean State Job Lot or Joanne's Fabric. Tubed watercolors, watercolor paper or wc canvas, 3 brushes: 4, 8, 12 round are recommended.
 
Intro to Painting
Those new to oils and acrylics will learn basic techniques, color mixing, value, and application. More advanced artists will develop their skills through independent projects. Our supply list is basic. You're welcome to use what you already have! Most items can be purchased locally at Ocean State Job Lot or Joanne's Fabric. Tubed or bottled acrylic paint, multi-media paper or small canvas or canvas panels (5x7 or 8x10), 3 brushes: 6, 8 round, 1/2" flat are recommended. Containers for water, paper towels, mixing tray or plates should be used.
