Description
Join Eliana, a functional nutritionist, for an engaging 2-hour family-friendly cooking class at Branford High School. In this hands-on session, you'll learn how to create nourishing, anti-inflammatory meals that are delicious, easy to make and suitable for the whole family—without breaking the bank or sacrificing flavor.
MATERIAL FEE: $40 due in exact change the night of class.
During this class, you will discover:
-The fundamentals of anti-inflammatory cooking, including how to choose ingredients that heal and nourish.
-Strategies for batch cooking to save time and ensure you always have hearty, health-promoting meals ready for the family.
What’s Included:
-Live demonstrations of simple, wholesome recipes that kids and adults will love.
Tasting of the dishes prepared during class.
Practical tips on sourcing affordable, organic, and local ingredients.
-Recipes for all dishes made in class, designed to be gluten-free, nut-free, and dairy-free to accommodate various dietary needs.
-A supportive environment for questions and skill-building.
Class Fee: $85 total ($35 for instruction and $40 for materials). Come hungry for knowledge and enjoy some delicious, family-friendly food. Don't forget to bring an apron if you'd like to use one.
Eliana Serna Perez is a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach with a Master’s in Functional and Integrative Nutrition from Saybrook University and over five years of experience in the field. She has dedicated her career to helping individuals improve their health and vitality through holistic, evidence-based nutrition strategies.
Eliana’s clinical experience includes working alongside a naturopathic doctor at a wellness center in Connecticut, where she co-managed patient care, designed personalized nutrition plans, and supported clients through detox programs. Specializing in gut health and inflammation, she has successfully helped clients heal their gut, reduce chronic inflammation, and improve digestion with tailored approaches to nutrition and lifestyle.
Beyond her one-on-one work, Eliana is passionate about education and community outreach. She has led workshops at Yale University on topics such as mindful eating, superfoods, and healthy meal prepping, empowering participants to cultivate healthier relationships with food and make nourishing choices in their daily lives.
Her approach is rooted in compassion and a non-judgmental ethos, creating a supportive space for clients to transform their health. Drawing from her personal journey managing an autoimmune disease, Eliana inspires others to take charge of their well-being through meal planning, cooking classes, and sustainable wellness practices designed to fit each client’s unique needs and lifestyle.
