Bio

My name is Fabiana and I am an Italian teacher and tutor.

I grew up in in Italy where I graduated in Italian Language and Literature at the Universita’ di Lettere e Filosofia in Parma and at the same time I pursued Violin performance and music studies at the Conservatorio di Musica “Arrigo Boito”. Embracing these different but related academic disciplines had enriched me with an interdisciplinary approach and knowledge that I rely on as a teacher.

My experience in teaching started during the High school and University years, working as private tutor and later as Elementary classroom teacher in Italy.

Since I moved abroad to my family more than 15 years ago, I have focused my career on teaching Italian as a second language. I learnt English and Norwegian languages (achieving a IELTS exam and a NORINT certification from the University of Stavanger) to be able to work as Italian tutor and course instructor in the UK, in Norway and in the US, where I have been living since 2018 in the beautiful town of Guilford.  I work as Adjunct Lecturer at the University of New Haven and I am an Italian tutor for the language school Aux 3 Pommes, LLC Foreign Language School. I work as Per diem Substitute Teacher in the Guilford Public Schools, and I design and teach Italian courses and seminars at local libraries and Adult Education Centers. In January 2025 I started my own Teaching platform where I offer courses, classes and seminars of Italian and Latin languages both online and in person   ciaoitalianlessons.com

I like to run half marathons and  I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going to concerts and theater.
