Knit an Entrelac Cowl

The Entrelac cowl looks as if it’s braided but it’s not. It looks as if it’s knit in the round but it’s not. The effect is achieved by knitting regular knit and purl rows which are connected uniquely to form the cowl shape as you go. By using variegated yarn with long color repeats, the braided effect is enhanced. Learn to pick up stitches if you haven’t done that technique before. Pattern will be provided.

 

Materials List: 600 yards of a variegated yarn with a long color repeat (ex. Red Heart “Unforgettable”, Lion Brand “Landscape”, Caron “Simply Soft Paints”); US size #6 (4 mm) 24” (60 cm) long circular knitting needle
